Perfection is a Myth

I have developed timid habits. Maybe this is why I like the ballsy, tell it like they see it style of Larry Winget and my new favorite author Tim Ferriss.

To quote Ferriss paraphrasing Herbert Simon:

It is impossible to have perfect and complete information at any given time to make a decision.

Stop reading about it.
Stop pondering it.
Start doing something relevant!

Stop filling your garage.
Stop filling your time.
Start ful-filling your dreams!

Less Input. More Output.

What are you avoiding at the moment?

The 4-Hour Work Week

The 4-Hour work Week: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New RichIf you have ever even threatened to put off enjoying life until after retirement you need to read this book. Tim Ferriss has put together a great resource to get people out from behind their excuses (and their desks) and get them living, loving, and learning instead of loathing their job.

Of course, the most wonderful plan in the world is useless if it hasn’t been tested and refined. Tim is a living testament to the power of his words and has stories from other “New Rich” who have started taking mini-retirements now while they are young enough to enjoy doing the things they enjoy!

Even if you are not as gung-ho about cutting the ties between dollars and hours as Tim (and I!) you can still gain enormous freedom at work by honestly applying the 80/20 rule and believing you can batch process 99%+ of the communications you receive.

What beliefs are holding you back from truly living?

Everybody say “Hi Harris!”

“Hi Harris!” (And Ross!) I’m just recovering from an awesome (yet tiring) weekend in Wisconsin.

It was awesome inspite of being in Wisconsin, not because of…

I got a chance to meet a bunch of great marketers, learn some new things, and generate lots of new ideas! All thanks to my buddy Harris Fellman. I wouldn’t have made it there this weekend if it wasn’t for Harris.

And if you haven’t experienced how generous Harris really is then you need to go check out his latest release – don’t be scared off by the title, it is all good legal, moral, and ethical stuff (I got a sneak peek this weekend).

7 Day Business Turnaround

Since I tell you about the other things I’m reading and learning from I had to share this too.

In case you missed it I am a big fan of Mark Joyner’s Simpleology and all the benefits to be gained from his free 101 course. You’d think that his new Simpleology Intensive would really get me excited. For some reason I couldn’t get into the pre-release hype.

Then I read the release page. I was just going to check out what ended up in the actual release. I skimmed my way down the page and then I saw that there was no payment for 7 days and found myself buying it before I even knew what all was included.

I have now been through the bulk of the course (and barely touched the non-core “bonuses”) and I’m kicking myself for waiting as long as I did! My monthly expenses dropped by $524.60 on day 2 — more than paying for the intensive. I’m a little behind and so my first “cash injection mission” is rolling out on day 6 instead of day 3.

Whether you are in business for yourself or not your finances can benefit from the mindset shift during days 1 and 2. MJ is a master at bridging the knowing-doing gap by taking the “obvious” and making it doable (and more importantly done!). If nothing else this is worth its weight in gold for the little insights into MJ’s accelerated learning processes shared during the “space monkey” coaching calls.

Unless you are living comfortably off of your lottery winnings or Uncle Bob’s inheritance you’ll want to check it out while MJ is still offering 7 days free.
